In 1929, five-time British open champion, JH Taylor was asked to design a golf course. Today this is the Selsdon Estate Golf Club, a leading Croydon golf club.
Cut from the thick forest that dominated the hotel’s 200 acres at the time, this challenging 18-hole par 73 golf course takes around four-and-a-half hours to complete if walking. In addition to the nine par 4 holes, there are five par 5 holes, four of which measure over 500 yards and look out for the 17th hole - a memorable par 3 from an elevated tee across a valley.
There is also a range of corporate golf days, golf break packages, and membership options to enjoy from one-night with a round of golf, to a three-night stay with unlimited golf. All packages come with evening dinners and buffet breakfasts.

The course
Just down the road from the bustling Surrey suburbia that is Croydon and conveniently located just 12 miles from the centre of London, at De Vere Selsdon Estate you’ll discover our gently undulating golfers paradise plotted within 200 acres of spectacular rolling parkland.
The 18 hole course was designed by five-times Open champion J.H. Taylor but has been extensively modified and improved in recent times, and enjoys magnificent views overlooking the Surrey Downs. Many fairway undulations means hanging lies are frequent while the wind tends to swirl around the greens. Look out for the 17th hole - a memorable par 3 from an elevated tee across a valley.

A Flexible Points-Based Membership for £325
This points-based membership gives you all the benefits of a traditional golf membership—and enable you to play up to 30 rounds of golf—plus the added flexibility to play golf on your terms and access a host of additional benefits.
For an annual one-off membership subscription of only £325, you will receive 100 points. (If you want to play more golf you can simply purchase more points.)
You will have the ability to use 80 points at your nominated home club and 20 points can be used “away” at any of the other PlayMoreGolf partner golf clubs in the UK.
Once you are a member you will have your own personal online membership account where you can refer friends or even buy more points, depending on the frequency of your golf activity. Your online account is where and when you choose to book your next round of golf.
